LOWELL — Board of Parks establishes June 30 cutoff policy for park permits while approving dozens of spring-summer programming requests. Chairman John Linnehan and Parks Superintendent Jeff Lesniak presented the new June 30 cutoff date for blanket permits, requiring organizations to reapply for July-August programming rather than securing full-season permits. Six cricket league applications from Hetal Patel and Sabeeh Ehsan were tabled to March pending schedule coordination to resolve field conflicts at Hovey Field.

The board approved permits for Washington School walkathon and field-day events, youth soccer programming, school celebrations, community-service events including Coalition for a Better Acre activities, and concession operations, with unanimous votes throughout. Fee waivers were granted to the Coalition for a Better Acre and to Gardenia Osorio for her July baby shower, with the latter's event time amended from nine to six hours at the requester's request.
