Board of Assessors approves abatement and exemption applications

LOWELL — The Board of Assessors unanimously approved multiple applications for property tax relief and statutory exemptions at its January 29 meeting at Lowell City Hall. Deputy Chief Assessor Ellen Brideau called the meeting to order at 11:00 AM. The board approved 8 FY26 real estate and personal property abatement applications, 3 FY27 3ABC applications, and 6 statutory exemptions while denying 1 motor vehicle excise tax abatement application.

The board also received a demonstration of automated deeds processing technology from Just Appraised and scheduled a February 17 follow-up meeting to review implementation details.
