Board of Assessors · Meeting of January 20, 2026

LOWELL — The Lowell Board of Assessors approved multiple abatement and exemption applications in a January meeting. Chief Assessor Ellen Brideau, Deputy Chief Assessor Ryan Rondeau, and Assessor Amy Lombardo approved three motor vehicle excise tax abatement applications for denial and two FY27 3ABC applications through motions by Rondeau seconded by Lombardo. Four statutory exemptions were approved unanimously: one under Clause 22, two under Clause 41C, and one Senior Volunteer exemption.

The board noted that seven FY26 real estate and personal property abatement applications are under review with inspections ongoing. The City Manager arranged an introductory meeting with Just Appraised, a new appraisal tool being implemented in the assessors' office.
