Board of Assessors approves tax abatements and exemptions in routine session

LOWELL — Board of Assessors approves motor vehicle excise tax abatements and exemptions in routine session. Chief Assessor Ellen M. Brideau, Deputy Chief Assessor Ryan E.

Rondeau, and Assessor Amy Lombardo approved motor vehicle excise tax abatements for three weeks of December applications and four abatement denials, along with six statutory exemptions under various clauses plus a Senior Volunteer exemption. The board unanimously approved the six exemptions while one additional Clause 41C application was denied. The board also affirmed FY26 revised assessments totaling $16,794.03 across five accounts and confirmed Vision and RRC as assessment certification vendors for fiscal 2027.
