Board of Assessors approves tax abatements, processes warrants

Lowell assessors process $69,000 in warrants amid staffing reductions. Chief Assessor Ellen M. Brideau reported that the Board of Assessors unanimously approved one FY27 3ABC exemption application and motor vehicle excise tax abatements for the week of April 27 through May 1.

The board also approved Proforma Bills warrants totaling $14,517.51 and Audited Personal Property warrants totaling $54,197.78 across multiple fiscal years, and denied one late statutory exemption application. The assessors office lost two staff members due to recent citywide layoffs.
