Lowell Board of Health backs PrideStar buprenorphine program using Opioid Settlement funding. The board unanimously approved PrideStar EMS's proposal to administer buprenorphine during emergency response, which will expand medication-assisted treatment access to overdose patients. Dr.
Mollie Quip, PrideStar Medical Director, and Dr. Audra Williams of the Bridge Clinic noted that patients receiving buprenorphine following Narcan are four times more likely to enter addiction treatment. The board also approved a Title V septic variance for 31 Pemberton Street and was informed that June recorded the lowest overdose count at PrideStar since 2011.
