Board of Parks · Meeting of May 27, 2026

Lowell Board of Parks approves permit applications with major fee waivers for youth activities. Chair Keith Rudy and members Tom Caunter, Melissa Morales, John Linnehan, and Kah Ndi approved the majority of 30 permit applications for summer facility use, with unanimous votes waiving all fees for school-related events and granting complete fee waivers exceeding $20,000 for Lowell Little Youth Softball League's regular-season and tournament play. Seven applications were declined due to no applicant representation.

The board voted 5-0 to have a building inspector evaluate Shedd Pavilion roof safety concerns and rejected a proposal to allow remote Zoom participation by permit requesters.
