Lowell parks board approves summer recreation programs amid infrastructure delays. The Board of Parks approved numerous recreation programs and park-use permits for 2026 while tabling multiple field reservations affected by the Centralville Area Sewer Separation Project, which will use Hovey Park as a staging area for two to two and a half years. Shedd Park remains closed through May 15 for construction.

Approved permits included Daisy Delgado's scholarship event, Tara Perry's craft fair, multiple school field days, and youth lacrosse and baseball programs at various rates. The board also approved MASS DOT's use of Manning and Ventura Fields parking lot from February 2 to March 2 for Gorham Street bridge project staging.
