City Council approves $4.7 million transportation grant and waste fee amendments

Lowell City Council approves $4.7M transportation grant. The council unanimously approved a $4,745,366 MassDOT transportation grant and adopted amendments to the city waste fee schedule following a public hearing. Additional votes accepted a $30,000 donation from All People Church, approved $19,674.59 in firefighter safety equipment grants, and accepted $173,157 in community biodiversity funding.
Eleven council motions were referred to City Manager covering downtown development, transportation coordination, parking enforcement, street lighting, property maintenance, and recreation programming.
