Lowell Conservation Commission approves Massachusetts Audubon education center on Varnum Avenue. The commission unanimously cleared a Notice of Intent for the project, which will include a one-story education center, farm building, parking lot, walking trails, and drainage infrastructure within the 100-foot buffer zone to bordering vegetated wetlands. Chair Brad Buitenhuys noted the plan meets stormwater regulations and praised the thorough submissions from applicant Paul Gannon and his landscape architect Radhika Mahan.
The commission also unanimously approved a Certificate of Compliance for a completed project at 1514 Gorham Street by ZR Development LLC, allowed withdrawal of a determination request by Cabot, Cabot, and Forbes, and continued an enforcement order against Alexandros Papadopoulos for missing erosion controls at 205 Pratt Avenue to April 22.
