LOWELL — Council on Aging board approves prior minutes and reviews senior center challenges. Acting Director Aurora Erickson reported the new Heritage publication will be ready in June, while board member Maxine Farkas disclosed the city's worsening budget and noted that other municipal senior centers receive greater support. Farkas, who raised $42,000 for the Art Program in 2023, proposed expanded collaboration with the Friends Board to address staffing and resource gaps.
The Behavioral Health Outreach for the Aging Population program has secured funding for a fourth consecutive year; Age Friendly meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month at 10 a.m.
