Lowell Cultural Council pursues social media internship, plans direct granting shift. The council authorized Beth Noel to pursue partnerships with UMass Lowell and Middlesex Community College for a social media intern, with plans to deploy Hootsuite and other infrastructure. Council members reviewed Folk Festival survey data showing Youth Programming as the top-ranked creative economy category; rather than treating it as an automatic priority, each member will individually weigh the data in personal voting.
Jack Traphagan was assigned to respond to incoming emails, with the group proposing a Slack workspace to route messages into collaborative threads. The council also discussed its planned transition to direct granting in 2027.
