Disabilities Commission approves ADA website and app compliance plan

Lowell Disabilities Commission moves forward with $11,000 plan for city website accessibility upgrades. Commission member Lloyd De Jesus is coordinating with the city manager's office and finance team to advance the ADA compliance initiative. The commission also welcomed new Friends of the Commission and addressed accessibility concerns raised by youth attendee Jade, including missing inspection certificates in the high school's Freshmen Academy elevators and elevator access challenges during a recent fire alarm at the 1922 building.
The commission unanimously approved several motions addressing affordable housing initiatives and establishing plans for business cards and identification badges to identify commission members in the community.
