Lowell Historic Board approves two Hamilton Canal development permits. At its June 8 meeting, the board issued a historic permit to New North Canal LLC for a mixed-use residential building at 281 and 463 Moody Street, which will replace 14 D-rated buildings with a four-story and five-story structure, conditioned on board administrator approval of exterior material changes. The board also unanimously approved Wexford Development, LLC's permit for a new manufacturing facility at 256B Market Street, subject to detailed submissions for fencing, roof screening, bollards, seating areas, flagpoles, and loading dock designs.

Both motions, made by board member Yovani Baez-Rose, passed 8-0. The board approved April 13 minutes 7-0-1, with Baez-Rose abstaining.
