LOWELL — License Commission approves seven alcohol applications in brief February hearing. Chair Joseph Donahue and Commissioners Cliff Krieger, Dennis Mercier, Andrew Taing, and Pamela Underwood voted unanimously or nearly unanimously to grant four special event licenses, two new restaurant licenses with full alcoholic-beverage service, and one hotel license transfer. Applicants included Stanley Tabi and PJ Mercier for February 28 events, four spring receptions by Steve Syverson at Arts League of Lowell, Purple Carrot Bread Co. owner Alaina Brackett for a Valentine's dinner, and new restaurants Populus and On the Bun on Merrimack Street.
No public opposition appeared at any hearing.
