Lowell Disability Commission tables $11,500 website accessibility decision

Lowell Disability Commission tabled a decision on funding an approximately $11,500 Audio Eye accessibility widget for the city website. Second City Solicitor Thomas Wood told the Commission the city is pursuing full ADA compliance under WCAG 2.1 AAA standards and positioned the Disability Commission as a funding partner for the expenditure. The Commission expressed general support for the project but requested a presentation from the city's MIS department before committing funds, with the decision set for April.
