Board of Parks · Meeting of March 25, 2026
Lowell Parks Board approves 22 spring-summer permits, tables major softball tournaments. Chairman John Linnehan and members Tom Caunter, Melissa Morales, and Kah Ndi approved permits for youth cricket and baseball leagues, the Philharmonic Orchestra concert, Ultimate Frisbee, and multiple community events, with Lowell Public School events and church programs receiving fee waivers. The board declined three birthday-party permits where applicants failed to appear and rejected basketball-tournament requests from Levi Tankersley.
Two softball-tournament applications by Matt LeLacheur totaling $21,000 were tabled to April to ensure full board attendance, and Special Olympics event ($1,350 custodial fee) was continued to allow time for fundraising.
