Planning Board approves prior minutes, continues two developments, withdraws third.
Planning Board · Meeting of January 5, 2026
LOWELL — Planning Board approves prior minutes, continues two residential applications to February. The five-unit triplex-duplex at 558 Gorham Street in the Urban Mixed Use zone faces board scrutiny over garage dimensions, trash placement, and architectural discrepancies; Chairman Thomas Linnehan requested marked-up site plans for the February 2 hearing. The six-unit conversion at 75 Chapel Street, converting attic space with no building expansion, drew safety concerns about rear staircase-to-driveway access, snow removal, and existing trash bin noncompliance; applicant representative Rafeal Macedo confirmed full alarm and sprinkler systems pending Fire Department review.
A mixed-use parking lot project at 22 Hurd Street was granted withdrawal without prejudice. Vice Chair J. Frechette was unanimously appointed to the Zoning Rewrite Steering Committee.
