LOWELL — Planning Board approves tree removal on Crawford Street with replanting plan. The Board voted unanimously to remove a 60-inch diameter oak tree at 209 Crawford Street to permit roadway repaving and winter maintenance, with two replacement trees to be planted toward East Meadow Street. Paul St.
Cyr, Commissioner of the Department of Public Works, and Daniel Lewis, City Engineer, documented the tree's overgrown root system damaging driveways and asphalt, as well as branches affecting power lines. The Board also continued a special permit hearing for an adult day care facility at 260 High Street to April 23 after the applicant failed to complete required 14-day property sign posting.
