Lowell School Committee approves breakfast data request and United Way donation. The committee voted to direct staff to report on student breakfast participation, offerings, and implementation across Lowell schools, and approved a Finance Subcommittee meeting to discuss 2026-27 school year budget priorities including transportation costs and contractual commitments. Assistant Superintendent Dr.
Pinto presented updates on budget workbooks and position control as the FY27 budget development process begins. The committee accepted a 56,500 dollar donation of grocery gift cards from United Way of Massachusetts Bay, distributed across eight schools with homeless students prioritized, and approved a 17,500 dollar budget modification.
