Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of August 10, 2026
LOWELL — The Lowell Zoning Board of Appeals approved five land-use applications in August, voting unanimously on variances for residential subdivisions and property improvements and a special permit for commercial signage. The board imposed conditions on several approvals: a single-family home at 80 Seventh Avenue required a 6-foot privacy fence and shade tree after neighbors testified about privacy concerns; a variance renewal at 38 & 49 Casco Street required Engineering Department compliance. The board also continued a mixed-use development application at 123 University Avenue to October 15, with Chairman Van Pech noting this should be the final continuance as the applicant scales down the project to reduce parking needs.
