Zoning Board · Meeting of September 28, 2026
LOWELL — The Lowell Zoning Board of Appeals continued a variance request for 37 West Albert Street after finding the required public notice sign was never properly posted. Applicants Thuhong Vu and Danny Nguyen sought relief under Zoning Bylaw Section 5.1 for an addition with a two-car garage underneath, but board members found only an 8-by-10-inch sign in a window rather than the required 3-by-4-foot notice. Member Mark Briere said he "was prepared to vote in favor of your petition" but could not act without proper notice, while Member George Procope cited five outstanding conditions from the Department of Planning and Development, including a site plan and utility plan.
The board voted unanimously to continue the matter to October 15 at 6:30 p.m. In other business, the board approved its September 14 minutes and appointed Associate Timothy Hovey to the city's Zoning Rewrite Steering Committee.
